Electricians and operating engineers brighten Muskegon family’s Christmas

COOPERSVILLE December 23, 2015– Thanks to the generosity of the members of IBEW Local 275 and Operating Engineers Local 324, a local family will be having a merrier Christmas this year.

A crew made up of mostly electrical apprentices, operators and a band of journeymen wiremen collected nearly $200 to purchase Christmas gifts for a needy family in Muskegon.

The crew is all working for J Ranck Electric and are currently installing a 3-megawatt solar array for Consumers Energy at Grand Valley State University’s Allendale campus.

Jeff Ochsner (IBEW 275), the steward on the project, took the lead on this community service opportunity. He worked with the Unitarian church he attends in Muskegon to make it happen.

“I think this says a lot about who we are,” said Ochsner.

A special thank you to the brothers who coordinated this, and to everyone who contributed to making this family’s Christmas a happier one!
